DIY Father's Day Gadget Box

Father's Day is rapidly approaching!!!

Does your husband or dad need a convenient place to keep his wallet, keys, trinkets from his pockets, etc.?

How about making him a gadget box?!

This DIY project is rated on the low side when it comes to difficulty, time and cost, but on the high side when it comes to pleasing your man/dad!

Here's What You Need:
  • 5 CD Cases
  • 2 Photographs
  • 2 Pieces of Decorative Paper
  • Printer (could hand write)
  • Nuts & Bolts (or other small objects of your man's/dad's liking)
  • Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
  • A few small gifts your man/dad loves (to add inside the box for Father's Day - card, beef jerky, nuts, candy etc.)

Steps:
  1. Empty the CD cases.
  2. Decide what you're going to put inside of each CD case to show on the 4 outside sides of the box and make and insert those first. I added 2 photos of my hubby and kiddo (one past pic and one current) and a scripture and a poem I wrote (which you are more than welcome to mimic or create your own).
  3. Hot Glue on the nuts and bolts (or other trinkets of your choice) where you want them on each CD case.
  4. Lay the CD case down that is going to be the bottom of the box and see how all the pieces are going to fit together, making note of where to place the glue on each CD to build the box.
  5. Begin gluing on each CD case for the sides, one at a time. (Note: if you are careful with glue placement, you will still be able to open the 2 side CD's with the photos in them so you can refresh the photos from time to time)
  6. Fill it with the small gifts for Father's day and place it near the entry or on his nightstand or desk to surprise him on Father's Day and for his continued enjoyment as his gadget box!

So that's our gadget box design for Father's day made from CD cases, nuts and bolts! What's yours? We'd love for you to share how your personal DIY box came out by commenting below!

Wishing a great, big HAPPY FATHER'S DAY from our My Guy and I DIY family to yours!!!
